Spring Ball 2012 has come and gone and we got over 170 people dressed in 1920's theme to The Boatshed at the Taranaki Street Wharf Area. We had great times with everyone getting amongst it and hitting the dancefloor learning some dance moves thanks to Geoff Hunter and his team and the Good Time Music Academy trio. There were drinks and food available all night too.

There were a great mix of people here including both singles and couples and it was awesome to see people meeting new people, having some great conversations and even exchanging numbers at times.

It was cool getting Ma Shot Pa to play for a couple of hours for us too. I was impressed by the general attitude of everyone there and it was great getting people from churches all over the world and country at this Christian friendly ball. I enjoyed seeing that were not afraid to get onto the dancefloor and have some fun.

The place looked great and everyone seemed to have a great time. Thanks for turning up and we will look to bring you something bigger and better next year (if that's possible!).

Kind regards
Scotty

Scotty Presents : Spring Ball 2012

There is only one week to go until Scotty Presents : Spring Ball 2012 . This means that things are getting to that critical stage where we need to finalise numbers for the evening in order to help with catering and planning. If you know people who are keen to come and haven't bought tickets then it would be great to get people paid up by Thursday this week to help things run smoothly. I am also offering a group discount if you buy five tickets, you get one free, so that is six tickets for the price of five. If you have a bigger group then email me and we can come to some arrangement. Remember that there are no physical tickets, but you will be required to bring some form of ID as there will be a guest list on the door.

We are also adding value to your ticket by offering you some formal dancing lessons, some great decorations and a photo booth. There will also be free supper and food and drinks available to be purchased using cash or eftpos. So what are you waiting for? Get signed up for Spring Ball 2012 and meet heaps of people from other churches.

Here is a voucher from Totally Frocked Costume Hire in Lower Hutt (at top of page) which enables you to discounted costume hire. If you want a printable version then email me at scottysspringball@gmail.com I also noticed when roaming the streets of Wellington that there are plenty of accessories available cheap to buy in cut price stores.

There are door sales tonight at The Boatshed from 8pm.

Scotty Presents - Spring Ball 2012 Saturday September 1st 2012 - 1920s Theme

To celebrate the beginning of spring and disillusioned at the lack of Christian friendly formal dances and balls in Wellington may I present to you, Scotty's Spring Ball 2012 on Saturday 1st September 2012.
Scotty's Spring Ball has been created to give people (couples and singles) a chance to dress up in formal attire, put on their dancing shoes, meet some new people from Wellington's wider church circles and have a great time. We will have Wellington covers band Ma Shot Pa playing and a music trio from the Goodtime Music Academy who will play waltz friendly music for partner dancing. Participation and mingling is encouraged!
There will also be an hour of ballroom dancing tuition from 8:30pm and a chance to use those moves on the dance floor thanks to Goodtime Music Academy's trio who will be playing until supper time around 10:30pm. Following supper, Wellington covers band Ma Shot Pa will entertain us with a range of songs that you can cut some shapes to.
It is so easy to stick to your own circle of church friends, so this event is intended for people from different Wellington churches and not just the main ones like Arise, The Rock and The Street. So bring friends from your church or any other church you want, but remember to respect other people at this event and the venue please. It is intended for Christians (single or couples) who attend churches in the wider Wellington region and are aged over 18 with no upper age limit.
This year's event will take place at The Boatshed at The Taranaki Street Wharf Area near the lagoon. The beauty of this venue is that we have our very own deck to hangout and have some conversations along with a big hard dancefloor.

There is also a great indoor area with enough room to dance to music from the Goodtime Music Academy and Wellington covers band Ma Shot Pa.

There will also be a bar with a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available (see below). You pay for your own drinks. Supper will be provided and covered as part of your ticket price.

The theme is 1920s, come along wearing formal 1920s attire.
